Community Presentations

PRESENTATIONS:

  • FORMING AND ORGANIZING A NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH PROGRAM: This course lays the foundation for recruiting, selecting, and retaining neighborhood watch volunteers, including what to ask during a volunteer interview and how to recognize volunteers for their contributions.
  • CREATING AWARENESS AND MAINTAINING MOMENTUM: This course features a wealth of information on creating an awareness of the neighborhood watch program. This presentation also addresses the various types of leadership styles and roles that comprise neighborhood watch.
  • TEAMWORK: This curriculum is designed to assist citizens with some fundamentals on working together to achieve common goals. It includes information on the team building process and the skills necessary to be an effective team member.
  • STRATEGIC PLANNING: In this course, members will learn the process of strategic planning, how to conduct neighborhood assessments and prioritize initiatives, and how to build realistic and actionable plans.
  • FORMING SUCCESSFUL PARTNERSHIPS: This course teaches volunteers skills that they can utilize to reach out to other civic, social, and service organizations in an effort to expand their partnership activities.
  • PLANNING AND CONDUCTING EFFECTIVE MEETINGS: This course teaches skills in both planning and conducting meetings, and how to effectively follow-up the meeting.
  • OBSERVATION SKILLS: In this course, citizens learn the various aspects of observation, such as what to observe, including specifics concerning individuals, vehicles, and their surroundings; and how to observe it.
  • REPORTING SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITIES: This curriculum presents information on identifying suspicious activities, how to properly report them, as well as what to report and when.
  • TARGET HARDENING FOR THE HOME: In this course, volunteers learn a specific methodology on how to evaluate homes for security and general information on how to make our neighborhoods more safe and secure.
